The Labex, what is it ?
The Labex, what is it ?

Composed of the contraction of the words laboratory and excellence, the Labex aims at supporting research on prospective scientific issues. The French Government launched this project at the end of the 2000’s. This financing plan depends on the program Investissements d’Avenir (Investments for the Future). A 534.5 billion euro budget will be devoted to labeled projects which should allow achieving three goals:

  • Increasing outstanding and original scientific research so the international visibility of French research can be improved.
  • Asserting the high quality of master’s and PhD degrees.
  • Supporting the strategy of supervising institutions and reinforcing the vigor of the sites.
